When you're thinking about buying a swimming pool, ask people you know what they like about theirs, and what they would do differently.
- You'll want to backwash your filter every 7-10 days and keep the skimmer and pump baskets clean.
- Vacuum the bottom for 30 minutes, once a week.
- The only chemicals you need are 3" chlorine tablets, baking soda, shock (at start-up or after heavy rain) and clarifier.
- Use Formula 409 or a non-abrasive cleaner on stains or scum line. For stubborn stains, use auto polishing compound.
- Freezing will not hurt your fiberglass pool, so you can keep it full and running through the winter.
- Once a year, drop the water level six inches and wax from the water line up and across the top with a good grade auto wax.
